MOV യോനാഥാനോ തന്റെ അപ്പൻ ജനത്തെക്കൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചതു കേൾക്കാതിരുന്നതിനാൽ വടിയുടെ അറ്റം നീട്ടി ഒരു തേൻ കട്ടയിൽ കുത്തി അതു എടുത്തു തന്റെ കൈ വായിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി, അവന്റെ കണ്ണു തെളിഞ്ഞു.
KJV But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that [was] in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.
YLT And Jonathan hath not heard of his father`s adjuring the people, and putteth forth the end of the rod, which [is] in his hand, and dippeth it in the honeycomb, and bringeth back his hand unto his mouth -- and his eyes see!
RV But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in the honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.

ERVEN But Jonathan didn't know about the oath. He didn't hear his father make the soldiers promise not to eat. Jonathan had a stick in his hand, so he dipped the end of the stick into the honeycomb and pulled out some honey. He ate the honey and began to feel much better.
